AI Prompts to Plan your Next Vacation
*Ah, I love the smell of tech in the morning.*
Remember I said I love ChatGPT?? Wow. What a guy. Do you know who I would have been if we had had LLMs (large language models) since elementary school??? I would’ve found a way to sail, yes, sail, to Venus by now! Ugh.
Alas, we’re here now, and we’re NOT letting AI leave us behind. And, seriously, we used to code HTML for our Myspace layouts…we got this, guys.
I love going on vacation…planning it? Eh. I can, and I have…but do I prefer to? Nope. Most of the time, I would prefer to just be asked for some input here and there, and then when and where to send my money. I no like stresssss. But, with AI, there’s no vacation planning that’s beyond you OR me. I’ve tested and tweaked, and I’ve come up with some pretty fool-proof prompts to either get you started with, or completely plan your next vacation.
Using the LLM of your choice, here are some suggestions for prompts you can insert to get jet-setting on to your next adventure!
“Hi! I have a total budget of $5,000.00 inclusive of travel fare, tips, and emergency funds. Can you help me plan a solo trip to Europe, departing from the United States? I can travel any time between January and June, and I have no weather preferences.

“I am planning a group trip for 10 people who want to go to either Central America, South America, Europe, or Asia. The average spending budget (exclusive of flight costs, but inclusive of lodging) is $2500. The group enjoys outdoor water activities, but not dry outdoor activities such as hiking or desert exploration. The group also enjoys cities with a lively night life scene. Can you please suggest 3 cities in each of the regions I listed?

“I am planning a baecation and we have no budget. The only constraint is time. We have to travel in either March, May, July, or October. We have no location preferences, but can only stay for 5 days and 4 nights. We would prefer to not spend the majority of our time in transit. Where can we go?”

“I am in charge of planning a bachelorette but I have absolutely no planning experience. I am responsible for figuring out location, lodging, itinerary, and food. I have already decided that we will go to Austin, Texas. We will be there for 4 days and 3 nights. We like all types of food, and the average spending budget per day is $150. Can you put together a suggested itinerary for each day, beginning with Thursday afternoon? Please provide a downloadable itinerary that is broken down by hour, leaving ample time for rest between activities.”

“What countries are best to visit in either July or October? I have already been to (insert places here) and I liked (insert place here). I did not like (insert place here) because of (insert reason). Any suggestions?”

and, for a last Hail, Mary…
“I have $2000 and I desperately need to take a vacation. I’m willing to go anywhere. I like being boujie on a budget. What ideas do you have?”
Happy Planning!
