5 Summer Combinations for 5 Summer Occasions

Summer isn’t just a season–it’s THE season. Let me help you make it a memorable one with some head-turning combos.

Before I start with recommendations, let me try to give you a little… *background*. I was one of those very lucky kids who had horrible BO. And I really didn’t “get this together” until middle school. So, as you can imagine, I was not bullied at all and had an absolutely perfect time in school :). Don’t feel bad, I do genuinely laugh at this, now.

But if you’re one of my bullies reading this…I may or may not hope your tongue is always just sliiiiightly burnt when you try to eat…lol.

Anyway, because of that, I’m obsessed with smelling good. I feel personally offended when I don’t. This obsession developed even further during COVID when many of us had nothing to do but scroll through the clock app. So, circa 2020, I was introduced to the world of niche perfumes. Wow. Trust me when I say niche perfumes are where it’s atttt. You can leave 85% of those big designer house fragrances at the store.

I also now equally have an obsession with helping friends find their signature scent. One day (maybe soon?), you’ll be able to come onto this website, fill out a questionnaire listing your top 3 favorite scents, a vibe you’re looking for or an occasion you’re going to, and I will put together a personalized signature fragrance recommendation for you. That being said, I recognize that not everyone is into niche fragrance profiles. With beginners in mind, I will try to include at least 1 combo in every suggestion list that includes a very well-known fragrance. Baby steps, young grasshopper.

Okay, okay. Without further ado, here are my 5 summer fragrance combinations for 5 summer occasions:

Brunch with the Girls

Layering combo:
Kayali Vanilla 28 + Maison Alhambra Lovely Cherie

What you’ll smell like:
Vanilla 28 is like a playful vanilla with a more polished grounding (see what I did there?). Paired with Lovely Cherie it gives off vanilla gelato + cherry soda. It’s a very bright combo that’s perfect for floating around town with the girlies!

Summer Date Night

Layering combo:
Valaya – Parfums de Marly + Kayali- Yum Pistachio Gelato + MFK – Oud Satin Mood

What you’ll smell like:
Delicious and unforgettable. Valaya is my summer obsession. It’s like Delina but with a soft musk. The Yum Pistachio adds creaminess that tones down the floral even more, and Oud Satin Mood is just needed for all date nights where you want to make an impression, period. They’ll be thinking about you allllll week.

Summer Beach Wedding

Layering combo:
Sunset Hour by Goldfield & Banks + Kayali Vanilla 28

What you’ll smell like:
Sunset Hour kind of smells like tropical fruity candy, but not in a childish way. There’s a littttle bit of tang, so think more of a tart peach than a sugary strawberry. Vanilla 28 adds a soft and elegant warmth.

Summer Office Chic

Layering combo:
Pas Ce Soir by BDK Parfums + Goddess by Burberry

What you’ll smell like:
Think spicy orange champgane warm vanilla. Enough said.

Just Chase me DOWN!

Layering combo:
La Capitale by Xerjoff + Oud Satin Mood + Milk Bold by Commodity

What you’ll smell like:
Perfection. La Capitale is one of my favorite to gatekeep. It was almost impossible to get in 2021 because it’s made in Russia, and, well…Google is still free! Haha. But seriously–I suggest starting with Milk as your base, followed by Oud Satin Mood, and finally finish with La Capitale.
